Leicester is the traditional home of knitted textiles and we knit, dye and print over 95% of the jersey stocked. Even when major producers and retailers went off shore to source cheaper jersey we remained producing in Leicester. Single jersey (one bed of needles) and double jersey (two beds of needles) is a knitting system based on circular machines where the yarn, in a weft or horizontal position, is fed into the needle bed, where the stitch is formed.
